Now finally, at the end of week one, Desi Boyz showed very poor collections on wednesday as it collected 2.3 crores apprx. Now, It's 6 day nett gross is 32.8 crores which means this film shows the signs of being a FLOP. Week one update gets over. And after week 2, we will tell you final verdict of Desi Boyz.

Desi Boyz showed another fall on tuesday by collecting just about 2.5 crores nett. This way, the film is dropping like anything now. It has only collected 30.5 crores nett in 5 days. (Bodyguard collected 36 crores in two days while Ra.One collected 38 crores in two days.) This shows how back Akshay Kumar is as compared to these stars. Akshay had releases like Thank You and Patiala House this year. Of which only Thank You proved to be a Hit. Whereas, all other big actors like Shahrukh (Ra.One 118 crores), Salman (Ready 121 crores, Bodyguard 143 crores), Ranbir (Rockstar 74 crores), Imran (Delhi Belly 58 crores, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan 63 crores), Hrithik (ZNMD 76 crores) and Ajay (Singham 96 crores) managed to make their each and every film successful this year.
As far as Desi Boyz is concerned, the film now has only two days left to recover most of it's cost as Dirty Picture and other big films are just here. So, there are least possibilities that the film will reach 50 crore mark. And now, even 40 crore seems to be tough for the film. If the film doesn't collect 40 crores , FLOP. If it reaches somewhere between 40-50 crores, AVERAGE.

So, Desi Boyz, as we expected earlier, had an average weekend. The film collected about 7.5 crores on Friday, some 8 crores on Saturday and 9 crores on Sunday. This makes the film's weekend total to be 24.5 crores (apprx.) which is exactly what we expected it to be! The film, on Monday collected about 3.5 crores which means the film has collected about 28 crores till now.
This figure is much less when compared to other big actors like SRK and Salman's recent releases. Even Rockstar was much better than this. Now, The Dirty Picture, Ladies Vs. Ricky Bahl and Don 2 are just to release. Thus, the film will not be able to collect more than 50 crores. An Average.

Now, Desi Boyz, as we mentioned yesterday, had an average Day 1which is quite obvious because of it's moderate promotion. The film had got a mixed reviews and thus it collected about 7.5 crores on Day 1 which is just as we expected. If the film continues to do such business, it will be a Semi-Hit. Because of some reasons, next update will directly be on Tuesday with Weekend collection.

So, Desi Boyz releases! Desi Boyz was not a huge release we must say! The main reason behind this was lack of promotion probably. And thus, the film has not managed to get a good opening in shows till noon. The film has an average 50-60% occupancy in morning shows which shows a poor start. Although, the film may bounce in evening. The film is expected to collect about 7-8 crores today. Let's see!

As far as Desi Boyz is concerned, it has a negative date of release. People have spent too much in watching films like Ra.One and Rockstar in last three weeks. Moreover, the Desi Boyz trailer also has nothing special to offer. Moreover, films like Don 2 and The Dirty Picture are following it's release. Keeping all this points in mind, if we see Akshay and John's history this year, John' s "Force" has flopped. Akshay also has only a semi-hit in form of Thank You this year. This clearly means that Akshay Kumar is a little back than the competition. People don't prefer watching the same plot again and again and yet again.
Keeping this in mind, we must accept a fact that Desi Boyz is not going to earn what Rockstar or Ra.One earned. This one, it seems to be Semi-Hit. What we expect the film to gross is here:-
DAY 1:- 8 Crores
WEEKEND:- 24.5 Crores
WEEK 1:- 38 Crores
WEEK 2:- 9 Crores
LIFETIME:- 52 Crores
If the film earns this much, it will be a semi-hit. Below this, will make this one an average film. All we have to say is that wait for the film to release!
